About the Author
Robert Switzer was born in Portland, Oregon in 1923 to Canadian parents and was raised in Saskatoon. He was first published in the July 1946 issue of Esquire. Switzer contributed eighteen stories to the magazine over the next decade, including the O. Henry award-winning “Death of a Prize Fighter.” His first novel, The Tents of the Wicked (1956) was followed by a novelization of the film The Living Idol (1957). I Was Going Anyway is his last known work.
Kevin Burton Smith is the founder of Thrilling Detective website. An editor, critic, and occasional short story writer, he has been reading crime fiction since discovering Frank and Joe Hardy. Smith has contributed to Deadly Pleasures, Mystery Scene, The Rap Sheet, Blue Murder, and CrimeSpree. A Montrealer, born and raised, he currently resides in Southern California.
