Jack Todd
Jack Todd is an award-winning journalist and columnist with the Montreal Gazette. He is the author of The Taste of Metal: A Deserter's Story (HarperFlamingo Canada 2001). He was born in Nebraska and attended university on an athletic scholarship. While he was interning at the Miami Herald he received his call to the draft. After undergoing basic training, he deserted in January 1970, and made his way to Vancouver and eventually to Montreal, where he now lives.
