Andrew Steinmetz
As a singer-songwriter, Andrew Steinmetz performed and recorded with Weather Permitting and The Good Cookies-two independent rock bands. His poetry has been published in American and Canadian magazines. His first book of poetry, Histories (Véhicule Press), was published in 2000. His book Wardlife: The Apprenticeship of a Young Writer as a Hospital Clerk (Véhicule Press 2001) was shortlisted for the QWF awards and Edna Staebler Prize for Creative Non-Fiction. He recently released a second book of poetry, Hurt Thyself, with McGill-Queens University Press. Currently, Andrew is the Editor of Esplanade, the fiction series of Véhicule Press.
